Hey! This is Lauren
I’ve been photographing life since 2012 and officially turned my passion into a business in 2013 with Lauren McKeown Photography. Along the way, I picked up a few awards and even earned the title of Click Pro Elite (fancy words that mean a panel of professional photographers has reviewed my portfolio and deemed it worthy enough for a cool title). My passion is to document authentic moments while adding an element of artistic expression.
Why I do this
As a mom, I’ve experienced firsthand how time has a funny way of speeding up. One minute you’re rocking a newborn, and the next you’re chasing a teenager, who suddenly knows everything. Photography has given me the incredible gift of freezing those fleeting moments, letting me revisit the tiny toes, goofy grins, and quiet in-between glances that might otherwise fade from memory.

How I work
Let’s be real, getting everyone dressed, hoping the kids (and let’s be honest, your spouse too) are on their best behavior, and making it to a scenic spot without someone losing a shoe or a snack can feel like a major accomplishment. I get it. That’s why I do my best to keep sessions fun, relaxed, and stress-free. I’ll offer gentle direction when needed, but I also love to let kids run, explore, and be themselves, because that’s when the magic happens!
Fun Facts about me
When I’m not behind the camera, you can usually find me teaching yoga, foraging for herbs like a woodland witch (the nice kind), or chasing my three kids around. I’m a certified yoga instructor, an herbalist, and of course, a photographer. I’m also a military spouse, which has taken me on quite the adventure. I currently call Germany home, but I’ve also lived in Japan, collecting experiences and stories along the way.
